L&WV Railway accepts donation of track material
Wellington, Ohio (3-30-2025) The Lake Shore Railway Association (LSRA) and Timiny Rail Maintenance LLC are working together to improve the infrastructure of the Lorain & West Virginia Railway through a donation of railroad ties and track material.
One of the fundamental parts of a railroad is the track the trains operate on. After working with the LSRA on a number of track projects, most recently the reconstruction of the railroad crossing at State Route 303, the relationship with Timiny Rail Maintenance continues to grow. Timiny offered up a number of relay ties and some other miscellaneous track material to the LSRA. Both companies view this as a win-win with materials that were no longer needed by Timiny ultimately going to be reused in the preservation of the historical L&WV Ry.
Owned and operated by volunteers of the non-profit Lake Shore Railway Association, the L&WV offers young and old a chance to experience travel by train on their 1950s era locomotive and passenger cars. Once common place, with trains stopping in every small town; there are now many amongst us who have never set foot on a train. Operated seasonally, tickets and more information about us can be found at www.lwvry.org
